Annika Hotta first came to Japan in the fall of 2019, studying Japanese language and culture in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture. In late 2021, she relocated to Japan permanently, living in Fukuoka, Chiba, and Nara presently. Originally from the notoriously flat Midwestern region of the United States, Annika fell in love with the outdoors in Japan, and you can often find her running on the nearby trails or dragging her husband out for a long hike in the mountains. Although she primarily writes about disability justice over on Medium, Annika started this blog with the hope of promoting lesser-known travel destinations in Japan, especially those that are a bit more on the wild side.
